Terms of Use
The ground rules.
Last updated 1 October 2026
The agreement for using LearnitPal. We’ve kept it as short and plain as a legal document can be.
The agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and LearnitPal (“we”, “us”) covering the LearnitPal Android app, the service behind it and this website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and is part of these Terms.
Who can use LearnitPal
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these Terms yourself or with a parent or guardian’s permission. If you use LearnitPal for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
Your account
- Give us accurate information when you sign up, and use an email address you control. Accounts created with an email address must confirm it with a code before they can be used.
- Keep your password and the codes we email you to yourself. We will never ask for them. You are responsible for what happens under your account; if you think someone else has used it, reset your password from the sign-in screen and tell us at support@learnitpal.com.
- One person per account. Your LearnitPal address is yours alone; please don’t share it publicly.
What the Service does
LearnitPal fetches the web feeds you add and receives the newsletters sent to your LearnitPal address, turns them into articles, and recommends what to read. It learns from what you do in the app to make better recommendations.
Some features use automated systems, including AI models, to rank articles and write a short line about why a card was picked. These can be wrong. They are suggestions, not advice, and they don’t replace your own judgement or the original article.
Articles and newsletters
The articles in LearnitPal are written by their publishers, not by us. They belong to their publishers and are shown to you for your own personal reading. We don’t endorse them and aren’t responsible for what they say.
- Use LearnitPal for your own personal, non-commercial reading. Don’t republish, resell or redistribute articles from it.
- Only add feeds and forward newsletters you’re entitled to receive. If a publication is paid, the publisher’s own terms still apply to you.
- If you are a publisher and believe content is being used in a way that infringes your rights, contact support@learnitpal.com and we will look into it promptly.
What you let us do
You keep whatever rights you have in the material you bring to LearnitPal. You give us permission to fetch, store, process and display it, and to use your activity in the app, only as needed to provide and improve the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when you delete the material or your account, apart from short-term backups that roll off on their own.
Please don't
- break the law, or use LearnitPal to infringe anyone’s rights;
- send spam, malware or mail you don’t have the right to send to any LearnitPal address;
- try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or probe, scan or test our systems without our permission;
- overload or disrupt the Service, or access it by automated means other than the app;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, except where the law allows it regardless of these Terms.
Price
LearnitPal is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms first, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it.
Changes and availability
We are always improving LearnitPal, so features will change, and some may be added or removed. We work to keep the Service available, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. If we ever shut the Service down, we will give you reasonable notice.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using LearnitPal at any time and delete your account in the app: open Settings, scroll to the last section and tap Delete account. If you can’t open the app, we’ll delete it for you.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and explain why.
Disclaimers
We build LearnitPal with care, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every feed or newsletter will arrive, or that recommendations or AI-written lines will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. These limits don’t apply where the law does not allow them, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If there is a dispute, please contact us first; most things can be settled with an email. Otherwise, the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction, without taking away your right to bring a claim in the courts where you live if your local law gives you that right.
Google Play
If you downloaded LearnitPal from Google Play, these Terms are between you and us, not Google. Google’s own terms also apply to your use of Google Play.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using LearnitPal after that, the new Terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account in Settings.
